The IHSA and the IESA require all coaches to be certified. This can be achieved by obtaining a valid teaching or substitute certificate or by passing one of the certification tests below. Upon passing the coaches education test, a copy must be sent to the athletic director. The links to the tests are below:
All coaches must pass the both the PES (Performance Enhancing Substances) and the Concussion test before the official start of practice. These tests may be accessed by clicking on the buttons below. Before clicking, make sure you have logged into your IHSA.org account first.

It is school board policy that all coaches carefully read the coaches handbook. Coaches must sign that they have read and understand the coaching expectations and turn this in to the athletic director before participating in official practices.
The ROE now requires all coaches who are not currently employed as teachers or subs to be fingerprinted. The link below will allow you to schedule your fingerprints but you will then need to contact the athletic director immediately to receive instructions on the next step. Again, do not go to your fingerprinting appointment without first contacting the athletic director.
